Discussions with CDB Capital on financial platform for Swedish companies

Sweden-China Greentech Alliance (SCGA), Sweden-China Trade Council’s environmental technology platform, has had a strong relationship with China Development Bank Capital (CDB Capital) since 2012. SCGA has been an active partner and advisor to CDB Capital in their program to set up guidelines for China’s urbanization. Hammarby Sjöstad, thoroughly documented by Sweco in 2015, now serves as an international best practice and textbook example for Chinese cities in how to develop their neighborhoods in an efficient and sustainable manor.

The next step in SGCA’s cooperation with CDB Capital is to facilitate for Swedish environmental technology and competence companies to enter the Chinese market with the help of the bank. CDB Capital is in the midst of setting up a fund and a financial platform for this purpose and is currently discussing partnership with countries like Germany, the Netherlands, the US and Finland. Of course, we would like to be part of this as well.

Meeting with Mr Zuo Kun, Executive Vice President of China Development Bank’s investment bank, CDB Capital and Sweden’s ambassador to China, Ms Anna Lindstedt in Beijing to get more information on the financing platform for Swedish and Nordic companies in the environmental technology and health care sectors. CDB Capital is China’s policy bank and one of the world’s largest financers of infrastructure and urban development. Very exciting possibilities.
