Sweden-China Trade Council is happy to invite Johan Fredriksson, Senior Country Analyst/Economist at the Department of Risk Management of The Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN). In this lunch meeting Johan will give us EKN’s latest country analyses of China as a business partner for exporting Swedish companies. China has for many years been assessed as a low credit risk. Has this changed with and after the pandemic and what are EKN’s views on Swedish exports to China, Sweden’s largest trading partner in Asia? How can EKN be a partner for your exports?

EKN is a governmental Export Credit Agency with more than 90 years’ standing experience of structured financing of export transactions worldwide. EKN supports Swedish exports and the internationalisation of Swedish industry by issuing guarantees which offer protection at all stages of the export business process. EKN currently have guarantees issued for transactions in over 140 countries. Outstanding guarantees by end of 2023 stood at around 28 billion USD. www.ekn.se

Johan Fredriksson, Senior Country Analyst/Economist at the Department of Risk Management of The Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN) and covers the East and South Asian Regions. Aside from Country risk, risk methodologies, local currency financing and pricing are other areas of expertise, Johan has also been EKN’s representative in the technical discussions on export credits premiums within the context of the OECD Export Credit Group.  In 2020-2023 he was a team member of a joint OECD working group tasked with updating the country risk model supporting the working group of Country Risk Experts at the OECD level. Johan Fredriksson has a long and broad experience from international finance, development and trade negotiations from EKN as well as prior positions with United Nations Development Program (UNDP, Vietnam), European Commission DG TRADE (Brussels), and Asian Development Bank (Philippines).
