We are delighted to welcome Mr Leon Wang, Executive Vice President International and CEO China of AstraZeneca, the global pharmaceutical company combining Swedish and British innovation, to this APAC webinar for Sweden-China Trade Council members only. SwedCham China is the main organizer for this event.
We will get the opportunity to hear about AstraZeneca’s efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, its focus on harnessing the power of science, digital innovation and partnership to build more resilient healthcare systems post-pandemic, and their determination to make health happen for as many people, in as many countries as possible.

Leon Wang, Executive Vice-President, International and China President. Leon Wang is responsible for overall strategy driving sustainable growth across the International region, which includes China. Leon joined AstraZeneca China in March 2013 and was promoted to become President, AstraZeneca China in 2014. Under Leon’s leadership, China has become AstraZeneca’s second-largest market worldwide and AstraZeneca has become the largest pharmaceutical company in China. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Leon held positions of increasing responsibility in marketing and business leadership at Roche, where he was a Business Unit Vice-President. In addition, Leon holds several positions in local trade associations and other prominent organisations in China. Leon holds an EMBA from China Europe International Business School, and a Bachelor of Arts from Shanghai International Studies University.
Peter Ling-Vannerus, Chief Representative, SEB Beijing, was Gobal Head, Subsidiary Financing, at SEB Head Quarters in Stockholm before moving to Beijing in 2016 and have previously worked as the head of SEB Branch, France as well as head of the SEB office in Brazil and Board member of the Brazilian Investment Bank, Banco Mercantil Finasa. Peter has a long experience of working with emerging markets within all product areas and started his career in Peru working with the re-scheduling of the Peruvian debt.
