Post-Covid: Manufacturers managing the outbreaks and investing in the recovery

The past months have been tremendous in terms of uncertainty and policy shifts on Covid, as China first increased restrictions and since December has shifted policy to opening with a surprising speed. We have invited Johan Annell, Partner at Asia Perspective and based in Beijing, to share first hand experience from working in China during the shift and share views on the opportunities ahead in the coming economic recovery.

During the presentation, Johan will elaborate on the following questions:

  • How has it been to run business under the policy uncertainty and large recent outbreaks?
  • What has been key for manufacturing companies and supply chains to prepare for disruptions?
  • How have companies managed to improve processes and expand production in China throughout the pandemic?
  • What opportunities are there for Nordic manufacturers to compete successfully in the post-pandemic recovery?
  • How do Chinese regions differ in attracting foreign investment, and what are key factors to plan for when choosing where to establish or expand manufacturing operations?
  • What can we expect for supply chains and demand shifting within and beyond China in the coming years?

Johan Annell is one of the partners at Asia Perspective and leads the Beijing office. He has a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Chalmers University of Technology, speaks fluent Chinese and background in the automotive industry.
