What are the outlooks for Swedish companies in China?

Sweden-China Trade Council is happy to invite you to the presentation of this year’s Business Climate Survey mapping the current and short-term forecasted business environment in China perceived by the Swedish companies active on the Chinese market.

This year’s survey includes findings related to the challenges faced by China’s zero tolerance in regards to COVID-19 with the lock-down in Shanghai particularly affecting businesses. What are the challenges for the Swedish business community in China and how do companies adapt to the existing business climate?

The Business Climate Survey for Swedish companies in China is an annual survey carried out by Team Sweden in China since 2000. The survey is based on responses from around 100 companies across sectors, and analyses the performance, climate and future outlook for Swedish companies operating in China.

The results will be presented by Daniela Ling-Vannerus Cassmer, General Manager at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, and Joakim Abeleen, Market Area Director, Greater China, Business Sweden.

Some highlights from the report which will be elaborated on during the presentation:

  • Impact of Covid-19 on business results
  • Changing international trade policies implications for Swedish firms
  • Opportunities and challenges for Swedish companies in China
  • How Swedish firms perceive the Chinese environment from a sustainable business perspective
  • Which investment plans Swedish firms are having in China, in the light of the current global economic turmoil

Team Sweden in China consist of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, Business Sweden, the Swedish Embassy in Beijing and the Swedish Consulate General in Shanghai.

Launched for the first time in 2001 by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, the Business Climate Survey has since grown into an integrated Team Sweden initiative, conducted among Swedish company representatives in China. It aims to gauge the business sentiment as well as challenges and opportunities in the market and, as such, plays an important informative role in Team Sweden’s work supporting Swedish businesses in China.
