In July, the Third Plenum was gathered in Beijing and we are happy to invite you to a webinar to discuss the outcome of the meeting focusing on reform principles, identifying the entirely new reform measures and providing deep-dives on three topics important for foreign business in China.

During this webinar, Markus Herrmann Chen, Founder and Managing Director, China Macro Group (CMG), will review the key outcomes of the Third Plenum recently held in Beijing, the quinquennially held top-level reform meeting of the CCP’s Central Committee. Markus will analyze China’s evolved reform principles, new reform measures and discuss China’s industrial ambitions that are front and center in this reform package, trading off previously held ideological policy differentiations for practicality when serving China’s strategic interests, as evidenced for instance in the new formal commitment for more equal treatment between all ownership forms.

Markus Herrmann Chen, a Swiss-Chinese, is an experienced advisor to European business and financial investors focusing on effects from China’s political economy and global geoeconomic developments on corporate strategies, organizational design and HQ-subsidiary interactions as well as strategic partnerships and negotiations of European business in the Chinese market. Markus is a Strategic Advisor Europe to Caixin Global and the Vice-President of the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), leading its policy and government affairs committee and coordination with European peer organizations via EUCBA. He is further engaged in the advisory board of CEIBS Zurich (Europe) and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network.
