Welcome to meet with an interesting business delegation from Hebei Province visiting Stockholm on October 17.
Hebei Province, situated in the north east of China and bordering to Beijing and Tianjin, holds a population of 75 million and a GDP of 2.942 trillion yuan (US$479 billion), ranked number six in China. Much of the North China Oilfield is found in Hebei, and there are also major iron mines at Handan and Qian’an. Iron, as well as steel, manufacturing are the largest industries in Hebei, and are likely to remain so as these industries consolidate and Hebei continues to grow as a manufacturing and transportation center for the region.
This is also where the Xiongan New Area was established in 2017. Its main function is to serve as a development hub for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (Jingjinji) economic triangle. Additionally, “non-core” functions of the Chinese capital are expected to migrate here, including offices of some state-owned enterprises, government agencies, and research and development facilities.
Topics of interest during the event:
Confirmed speakers;
Mr Han Xiaodong, Economic & Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of P.R. China
