The 19th Party Congress and China’s Future Development

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was convened in October 2017, which has been closely watched worldwide, including in Sweden. The Congress has set out the policies and blueprint of the world’s most populous country and second largest economy for the next three decades, and opened a New Era for China’s development. What are the features of China’s New Era? What does it mean for the rest of the world and Sweden in particular?

The Chinese Embassy in Sweden and the Sweden-China Trade Council invite you to a seminar on the 19th Party Congress, where a senior CPC official will interpret the essence of the Congress and its impact on the world, including the opportunities it will generate for China-Sweden cooperation in various areas.

This is a unique opportunity to develop a better understanding of how China’s “New Era for Future Development” translates into more concrete answers to the challenges that Swedish enterprises are facing. During the seminar opportunities for Swedish companies in different sectors will also be highlighted.

Opening remarks will be given by Mr Thomas Lagerqvist, Chairman, Sweden-China Trade Council followed by a keynote speech by Ms Li Xiaoxin, Vice Minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee (ODCPC), who is visiting Sweden as the head of a CPC friendship delegation.  Mr Frédéric Cho, Vice Chairman, Sweden-China Trade Council will moderate a Q&A session. Chinese Ambassador to Sweden, Mr Gui Congyou will give the closing remarks.
